EFCC arraigns NGO founder N950million fraud

Usman Abubakar and his organization, the Young Alhaji Foundation, were both charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday with suspected N950 million fraud before a Special Offenses Court in Ikeja, Lagos.

Abubakar appeared before Justice Mojisola Dada and was charged by the EFCC with five charges of conspiracy, theft, theft attempt, and obtaining by false pretense.

The defendant and a Dr. Abu Fawzi, who is still at large, collaborated to commit the alleged fraud, according to the EFCC’s prosecuting attorney, Bilikisu Buhari, who testified in court.
