The real price of multiple births- Tyson Fury, wife expecting eighth child

Heavyweight boxing champion, Tyson Fury hinted recently that he and his wife, Paris Fury could be expecting their eighth child.

The undefeated boxer aged 35, and Paris, 34, who recently opened up about their lives with the Netflix series At Home with the Furys are parents to seven children from their 15-year marriage.

The couple most recently welcomed a child six months ago when Paris gave birth to a baby boy, Prince Rico.

Despite their large brood, Paris has managed to stay fit and glamourous. What could be the secret? Is multiple births healthy for women?

According maternal health experts, once a woman gets past her third childbirth, the risk of health complications increases; women who have four or more children double their risk of heart disease.

Also, back-to-back pregnancies can deplete essential nutrients, making mothers at higher risk for anemia and other complications such as uterine rupture, and also putting their babies at risk of low birth weight and preterm birth.

Caring for too many children could also lead to depleted mother syndrome; a situation that leads to feeling of mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion, depersonalization, and lack of fulfillment caused by intense child care demands. This situation is, usually, the result of too much stress and a lack of resources for coping with it.
