So Ridiculous! NYSC bars poly graduates without proof of 1-year mandatory IT experience from entering camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has begun enforcing its directive that graduates from polytechnics and monotechnics must provide proof of completing the mandatory one-year Industrial Training (IT) to be accepted into the program.

This policy, announced in July 2024, was confirmed by the NYSC Coordinator in Lagos, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, who emphasized its importance in maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.

As new batches of prospective corps members arrive at orientation camps, HND holders without IT certificates are being turned away across the country. NYSC officials have reiterated that the IT certificate is a crucial requirement for participation in the one-year national youth service.

In states like Osun, Niger, and Kano, the policy is being strictly enforced, with graduates being asked to present their IT certificates before they can be registered.
